Since first completing Forest School training (Bridgwater College, Somerset) in 2008, there has been a rapid rise in popularity of Forest Schools within London and the South East.
Forest School is an ethos for learning outdoors, following a child-led philosophy, and can be run in woodlands, parks, urban greenspaces and school grounds. The programme is adapted to suit the group, and can be as simple as building nature awareness and confidence in the outdoors, to increasing skill levels in crafts such as woodwork and fire-lighting. We recommend a long-term programme of a minimum of 6 sessions in order for your children to gain the most benefit.
For schools, these programmes can particularly help pupils who struggle to connect with classroom-based subjects. We also offer Forest School inspired interactive workshops which engage pupils in a specific curriculum topic or theme.
For community engagement events, our workshops encourage families and other members of the public to participate and engage with your event’s objectives.
